Does Smoking Control Your Life?

It is pretty clear that cigarette smoking is unhealthy.

For years we have known that smoking contributes to lung cancer, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), heart disease, stroke, asthma and many other diseases.  Did you know there are over 4000 chemicals in cigarette smoke.

How is smoking impacting you?

Every day smokers tell us how smoking has been affecting their lives.  Many notice that breathing is more challenging when do everyday activities like climbing the stairs at home or at work.  Others experience lower energy levels.  Most people are embarrassed as it is no longer socially acceptable to smoke and they are going outside in the freezing cold to satisfy their craving.  Not only does cigarette smoke have health risks, people spend hard earned money to inhale poison.  It sounds ridiculous when you put it this way but it’s true and yet it seems to be a hard habit for many to break. If you smoke a pack day you are literally burning up $4000 a year.  Imagine what $4000 could do!  That could be a wonderful vacation!

If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone.

We hear people tell us they have tried to quit using the patch, gum, drugs, e-cigarettes and cold turkey.  Sometimes they are able to go a few days, weeks or even months and then something happens and they find themselves smoking again.  We’ve heard smoking referred to as being a “friend”.  How can something that poisons you be a friend and yet this is what it feels like to some. Many feel discouraged.  It feels like smoking has some kind of power over them and that they feel like smoking controls them.

What if using motivation alone is not the answer.

Motivation tends to fade over time causing people to go back to old habits.  Motivation is at a conscious level but the things we do automatically are at a deeper level, at the unconscious level actually.  Making changes at the unconscious level supports your conscious decision to quit. This is where hypnosis comes into the picture.  Hypnosis works with the unconscious mind which is responsible for many of the things you do automatically every day.  Think of it like updating old software that no longer serves you.  Isn’t it time you let go of the pain and hassle of smoking without that constant battle going on in your mind?  See how others have used hypnosis to end their struggle by checking out the stop smoking page on our website.
